This is the, "short and sweet" English support site for Taurus Front
End Fidonet Mailer (FTN complient) by Alex Shakhaylo. This is
provided as a consolidation of various resources into one simple
website.
What is Taurus? Taurus is the grand child of Arugus
which was the first in the series of the open source project,
followed by Radius. However development on Raidus appears to
have stopped. Taurus is the newest, and also incorporates many
changes and several additional protocols the parents did not
include. Taurus supports Dial-up FTN, BinkP, ITN (front end
Telnet), NNTP, RAW (ifcico), FTP, SMTP, POP, and Gate!
All of this rolled into one front end software package.
BBS software support? Taurus assumes you have a
basic understanding of what you need and what you want. Taurus
accepts directory saved outbound packets for specific nodes for
routing via the entries in the nodelist, and it can also do some
dynamic routing via Binkley Style Outbound (BSO) packets. For
those who understand how basic internet FTSC Front Doors work,
Taurus provides TAPI support, AMA (MSG) support, PLZ compression,
and GZ(binkd)/HLZ compression. Taurus can be used for
virtually any BBS software as an Internet Front Door Mailer.
Use the
Protocol Comparison Chart below to view a comparative between the different
protocols that Taurus provides.
How much does it cost? Nothing..... :) Join
